Marisa Dalrymple Philibert, who last year resigned as MP and Speaker of the House, will be the candidate for the governing Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) for the Trelawny Southern constituency.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced this morning that a by-election will be held on November 22.

Nomination Day is November 6.

Dalrymple-Philibert previously served the constituency for four consecutive terms as member of parliament (MP) but resigned as both Speaker of the House of Representative and MP on September 21 last year, amid a damning report from the Integrity Commission.

Meanwhile, by-elections were also announced for the St Andrew North Western constituency, the Morant Bay division in St Thomas and the Aenon Town division in Clarendon.

Nomination Day is November 6 with Election Day on November 22.
