Man believed to be mentally ill shot by police in Stony Hill Square

A man who is believed to be of unsound mind was shot by the police in Stony Hill Square, St Andrew Thursday morning.

Reports are that police went to apprehend the man in relation to a case of robbery.

The man pulled a sharp object and allegedly attacked one of the lawmen who sustained injuries.

In response the cops pulled their firearm and shot the man.

Both were taken to hospital.

Independent Commission of Investigation is also probing the matter.
