Gun seized in Sligoville, 41-y-o man arrested

A 41-year-old man has been arrested by the Sligoville police in St Catherine for his alleged connection to a gun seized in the parish on Sunday.

The man who is from St Andrew is held on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.

Reports detail that about 2:40 a.m. a police team was on an operation in Waugh Hill main road.

They signaled a car to stop and the driver complied. 

During the search a nine millimetre pistol affixed with a magazine containing 17 rounds of ammunition was allegedly discovered.

The man was then arrested.

Investigation continues.
