Veteran journalist Barbara Gayle's vehicle found

The police who are investigating the gruesome murder of veteran court reporter Barbara Gayle, say they found her stolen vehicle along Dyke Road in St Catherine this morning.

Reports say the discovery was made around 9:00 a.m.

Gayle was discovered murdered inside her Caymanas Estate home in St Catherine by a neighbor around 10:00 a.m. yesterday.

The 2018 grey Mercedes-Benz 180 CL motorcar and her cell phone were reported as missing.

Gayle was last seen about 3:30 p.m. on Monday, when she was seen sitting on her front porch conversing with a man, neighbours recalled.

The man, whose identity was yet to be determined by the police up to late yesterday, was later captured on a doorbell camera footage calmly interacting with Gayle as she offered him a glass of water.

The police say they are pursuing “strong leads” to crack the case.
