$5 billion allocated to Cornwall Regional project
The ongoing redevelopment of the St James-based Cornwall Regional Hospital (CRH) has been allocated more than $5 billion in the 2025/2026 financial year.
Over the next 12 months, the money will be spent to continue civil works associated with phase one to three of the redevelopment of the institution, taking it to 90 per cent completion. Details of the project are outlined in the 2025/2026 Estimates of Expenditure, which will go before the Standing Finance Committee of the House of Representatives shortly. The objectives of the project are geared at improving service delivery in the public health system by rehabilitating the CRH to include ventilation and air-conditioning systems; mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems; information and communications technology; and equipping the institution.
