Bar Brawl in Portland, Haitian man dead
Outside of a bar in Windsor Forest, eastern Portland was the scene of a crime Sunday night when a brawl between two Haitian men ended with one of them dead.
Shortly before midnight, the men got into an argument which turned physical when one man punched the other in the face, according to a police report.
The man reportedly fell and hit the back of his head on the asphalt, leaving him motionless.
Attempts to revive him, including dousing him with water, were unsuccessful.
He was rushed to the Port Antonio Hospital, about 10 miles away, but died while undergoing treatment.
Witnesses say at least three other men then attacked the Haitian aggressor, beating and kicking him as he pleaded for his life.
His status is not immediately clear.
It's believed that the men are part of a group of Haitians who entered the island illegally last year and have been hiding in the area.
