Woman arrested after stabbing incident

A St James woman has been charged with wounding with intent in relation to an incident along Barnett Street on February 13.

Reports from the Barnett Street police are that about 12:30 p.m., a woman was walking along the roadway when she was approached by 21-year-old Tamika Jones, otherwise called 'Nin' of Gutters. A physical altercation developed between them during which Jones used a knife to stab the woman to her back. Lawmen, who were in the vicinity, saw what transpired and intervened. Jones was disarmed and taken into custody. The woman was assisted to hospital where she was treated and released.

Jones was charged while in custody after a complainant statement was recorded. A court date is being finalised for her.
