Update|Man charged with death of Haitian national in Portland Bar Brawl

The Portland police have charged Haitian national 41-year-old Claudy Phany otherwise called 'Nak Nak', with the murder of another Haitian who he allegedly killed during a fight in the parish on February 16.

Dead is 53-year-old Osly Delphonse, a labourer of Grande-Anse-Irios, Haiti.

Reports say that about 11:30 p.m., Delphonse and a group of undocumented Haitian nationals were at a location when an argument developed between them, that became physical.

During the altercation, Phany allegedly punched Delphonse causing him to fall on the ground, where he hit his head and sustained injuries.

He was taken to hosptal for treatment and later died.

A report was made to the police and an investigation launched.

On Monday, Phany was arrested and later charged after an interview in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalised.
