Woman pleads guilty to 2017 murder of senior citizen
A 31-year-old woman who was charged with the murder of an elderly man whose body was found in a comforter in 2017, has plead guilty in the St Catherine Circuit Court today.
Sadeen Green pleaded guilty to the murder of Fitz Albert Barnes, 67, of Young Street, Spanish Town in St Catherine.
Green who was represented by Attorney-at-Law Althea Grant, was ordered to be remanded until April 4 for sentencing, by Justice Bertram Morrison.
Facts are that on May 23, 2017, Barnes' body was found wrapped in a comforter on his premises.
Medical examination revealed that Barnes died as a result of a trauma caused by a blunt force object.
A probe was launched by the Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch, which resulted in Green's arrest on suspicion of murder.
Further investigation resulted in her being formally charged.
The accused has made numerous court appearances throughout the years while in custody.
