Submachine gun seized in St Andrew, four men arrested

Four men are in custody of the St Andrew South police for their alleged connection to an Intratec, Tec nine submachine gun that was seized in the division on Monday.

Reports are that about 9:30 a.m.,police personnel stopped the driver of a Nissan Skyline motorcar along Dill Path, Olympic Gardens.

The driver complied and during a search of the vehicle the weapon was reportedly discovered.

Checks revealed that it was loaded with 19 rounds of ammunition.

The Specialised Operation branch is investigating the matter.
