Vere takes the lead at Douglas Forrest meet
Despite a late start on Saturday at the Douglas Forrest Development Meet at the National Stadium, fans were not disappointed as there were some outstanding results.
With top schools such as Edwin Allen, St. Jago and Holmwood absent, the John Mair-coached Vere Technical took the opportunity to show their class.
They produced three double winners in Brittany Anderson, Britney Dixon, and Avery Pryce.
Class Three athlete Anderson led the way. Following her quick 11.88-second victory in the 100 metres at the Purewater JC meet the week before, Anderson produced the fastest 200m as well as the longest jump of the day among females.
After a second-place finish in the high jump with 1.68m, Anderson captured the long jump with 6.02m, before topping the 200m field with 24.70 seconds.
The outstanding Kiara Grant of Convent of Mercy, Alpha was second overall in 24.96 seconds.
