AFTER finishing second in both the male and female divisions a year ago, the Maurice Wilson - coached G.C. Foster College returned with vengeance this year to win the top titles at the NCB Intercollegiate Track and Field Championships at the National Stadium on Saturday evening.

In the male section, G.C. Foster College amassed 232 points. Closing out the top five were the University of Technology (UTech), 152; UWI, 147; Mico University College, 74; and Exed Community College, 43.

In the female division G.C. Foster College ended with 202 points, holding off UTech by 17 points as the defending champions ended on 185 points. Closing out the top five were UWI, 133; Mico, 62; and Exed Community College 18.

Wilson was extremely pleased with his team's wins, but was very sceptical about the organisation of the event.

"I want to congratulate the organisers on a fairly successful meet, but there were some disappointments in some areas. There is the need for more highly trained officials. There was no championship trophy available for the overall winners and the date when the meet is supposed to be held has to be a fixture on the JAAA calendar," he said.
