Confident Clarke looks to retain 4x100m and 4x400m titles
Calabar High's track and field team to the Penn Relays were one of several teams that left the Donald Sangster Airport in Montego Bay yesterday afternoon for the 2016 renewal of the relay carnival which starts tomorrow.
It was a confident head coach Michael Clarke who spoke to STAR Sports about his team's chances of retaining their 4x100 metres and 4x 400 metres titles.
"We are going to Penns with an open mind and it will be very tough, but we are confident that we can retain both titles," said Clarke.
"All teams will be a threat and Kingston College are a major one in the 4x100m as they are the fastest qualifiers and Jamaica College have several members of their record breaking team of two years ago returning and they are also big dangers," he added.
"I like what I have seen in training over the past week, especially the hand offs in the 4x100m and the guys are ready," he concluded
Also leaving yesterday afternoon were Kingston College, Holmwood and several members of St Elizabeth Technical's male team.
