National assistant coaches, Jerome Waite and Donovan Duckie, are next in line to obtain new contracts from the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF).
Dalton Wint, general secretary, of the JFF says the association will be meeting with the senior national football assistant coaches in the coming weeks in an effort to iron out their contracts. He added that they are moving swiftly to ensure that individual contracts are sorted out very urgently.
“So far everything is OK with them and we will have another opportunity to have another sit down with these people, but now they are focusing on the upcoming two games that we will be playing,” he said.
Head coach Theodore ‘Tappa’ Whitmore returned to the post last Friday after withdrawing a letter of resignation he handed in on April 6.  He had resigned  after months of negotiations and discussions failed to produce an acceptable permanent contract. Minister of Sports Olivia “Babsy” Grange acted as a mediator between Whitmore and the JFF in bringing about an amicable resolution to the dispute on April 13.
Meanwhile, a 20-man local Reggae Boyz  squad named on Tuesday will continue  preparations for upcoming away friendly matches against St Kitts and Nevis and Antigua and Barbuda with training sessions at the UWI/JFF/Captain Horace Burrell Centre for Excellence field today and tomorrow. The sessions are being directed by assistant coaches Duckie and Waite.

The Reggae Boyz will play St Kitts and Nevis on April 26 before tackling Antigua and Barbuda two days later.

The full training squad is:  Amal Knight, Damion Hyatt, Ladale Richie, Javain Brown, Shawn Lawes, Ricardo Thomas, Clifton Woodbine, Tevin Shaw, Fabion McCarthy, Kaheem Parris, Ricardo Morris, Maalique Foster, Jamiel Hardware, Cordel Benbow, Peter Lee Vassell, Chevone Marsh, Fabian Reid, Jovan East Marvin Morgan and Alex Marshall.
