West Indies top-order batsman Darren Bravo believes Jamaican teammates John Campbell and Jermaine Blackwood are going to get things right ahead of the two-match Test series against New Zealand starting on December 2.

Bravo made the comments after both Campbell and Blackwood failed in the just-concluded drawn three-day practice game against New Zealand 'A' in Queenstown.

Opener Campbell faced just five balls in making four runs before he was bowled by fast bowler Blair Tickner while Blackwood, who batted at number six, faced 10 balls in getting eight runs before he was caught off the bowling of left-arm wrist spinner Michael Rippon.

Contrastingly, Bravo played a gem of an innings in the warm-up game, getting a masterful 135 while batting for 279 minutes in the West Indian total of 366 all out.

Hard work

Bravo believes both players will eventually come good with the bat as they have been putting in a lot of hard work in the nets facing up to the likes of Shannon Gabriel, Kemar Roach and Alzzari Joseph.

"I just think it's a matter of concentration for both Blackwood and Campbell. We all know how quickly they can score at the end of the day, however, they need to put a high price on their wicket and just give themselves a chance. The longer you stay out in the middle, it gets a bit easier and, obviously, that will give you confidence as a player", said Bravo.

Another Jamaican Nkrumah Bonner was also able to get a knock in the game. He made 24 from 50 balls before he was lbw to Tinkner.

The West Indies will have one more tour match starting on November 25 and Bravo is confident that both Campbell and Blackwood will show their true class before the real deal starts in a couple of weeks.

"I am sure they are going to get it right. As a team, we have been supporting each other every step of the way so far. I am quietly confident those guys are going to get it right," added Bravo.
