West Indies players celebrate the fall of a South African wicket during yesterday’s fourth T20 International in Grenada.

West Indies captain Kieron Pollard put in a Man-of-The-Match performance with the bat while all-rounder Dwayne Bravo starred with the ball, to help the West Indies to a 21-run win in the fourth T20 International against South Africa in Grenada to level the series at two games apiece with one game to play.

Pollard blasted a quick-fire unbeaten 51 from 25 balls with two fours and five sixes to help the West Indies pose a challenging total of 167 for six after being asked to bat first.

The captain and Fabian Allen, who was not out on 19, rescued the innings from 101 for six in the 16th over by adding a valuable 66 runs to give the home side a fighting total. Lendl Simmons made a brisk 47 at the top of the order before he became one of two wickets for George Linde while Tabriaz Shamzi also bagged two wickets.

The West Indies continued their excellent outing with the ball, as they stifled the South African innings, thanks to some excellent variations from Bravo who bagged a career-best four for 19 from four overs.

Obed McCoy continued to impress, picking up two wickets for 30 runs, as only Quinton de Kock managed to put up a fighting total of 60 from 43 balls, as the Proteas could only muster 146 for nine in their 20 overs.

After the match, captain Pollard praised the efforts of his team for bouncing back, following back-to-back defeats.

"In a game like this, we had to come hard and try to win because it was a must-win game. For us, it was a matter of coming out and being focused. For me I didn't face as many deliveries in the last couple of games so I tried to give myself a chance and be there at the end," said Pollard.

Bravo, who picked up the crucial wicket of de Kock which pretty much sealed the win for the home side, said the team had some hard conversations the night before, which brought out the best in the players on the day.

"We had a long meeting and discussions about what it means to represent the West Indies and being two-time World champions and playing with passion and pride. I think that helped us and all in all, it was a great team effort and we came out and delivered," said Bravo.

The teams will meet tomorrow in the fifth and final deciding match at the Grenada National Stadium at 1 p.m. Jamaica time.
