Distin crashes out of high jump

Reigning national champion Lamara Distin failed to progress beyond qualification in the women's high jump at the Paris Olympics.

The 24-year-old had three unsuccessful attempts clearing the bar at 1.92m.

Distin had set her sights on becoming the country's first Olympic medal holder in the event in a season where she has soared as high as 2.00 metres for the first time in her career.
