Sunshine Girls head coach Sasher-Gaye Henry is expecting a tough contest when her team faces South Africa in the second game of the Margaret Beckford Sunshine Series at the National Indoor Sports Centre.

Jamaica lead the clash 1-0 after their 55-47 win over the South Africans in game one and will clinch the three-match series with a victory in today's second game.

Heading into the game on a positive note, Henry said she is well aware it will be a tightly fought contest as their opponents will be determined to push the series to a third game. The final game of the series will be played on Saturday.

"We have to look at game one and look at what we did not do so well. We have to come back strong although we got the win," Henry stated.

"We know it will be a tougher game today because it could be a decider and South Africa will want to disrupt the flow. We just have to go back to the drawing board and re-construct ourselves and look back at our strategies and our plans."

Henry, however, is confident her players will be able to pull off the important win as she has seen their quality on display over the past two months.

She stated that the team has been continually improving since their last outing, a 2-1 series win over England in the Vitality Netball Horizon Series in November of last year.

"There are some things that we had seen in the England games that we wanted to improve on and we did improve on those," she said. "It's a good place that we're at in terms of building for a four-year cycle in our second consecutive Test."

However, before the two teams meet at 7 p.m. at the National Indoor Sports Centre, the under-21 Sunshine Girls will face off against the young SPAR Proteas in the second game of their three-match series.

The under-21 Sunshine Girls are hoping to recover from a humbling 30-point defeat as they went down 31-61 to their opponents.

Their head coach, Annett Daley, said her team must respond to the pressure after their last game.

"My mantra is that when you fall, what matters is how you get up," Daley explained.

"What is important is how they respond to the instructions. We have seen that the quality is there and once we put in the work, we expect great things from them."

The match is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
