Campion remain perfect in ISSA U19 basketball

CAMPION COLLEGE, the defending champions in the ISSA urban schoolboys under-19 basketball competition, maintained their unbeaten run in the competition on Tuesday after getting by Calabar High 78-53 in quarter-final action.

The defending champions took control with a dominant third quarter. They outscored their opponent 33-17 after both teams were tied 26-26 at the half-time break. Campion went into the final quarter leading 59-43.

Ryheim Martell top scored for the winners with 23 points while teammate Payne Jones chipped in with 16'points. For the losers, Khalel Brown top scored with 20 points.

Mowan Bonnick continued his good form for Ardenne with a good all-round performance, scoring 30 points to go along with 29 rebounds and 15 blocks to guide his team to an 84-68 win over Tivoli High their quarter-final clash. Ibrahim Baxter assisted Bonnick with 22 points, while for Tivoli, Khaliel Brown top scored with 32 points.

St George's College got the better of their North Street neighbours Kingston College 58-38 in their quarter-final encounter.

Barrington Dennis scored 15 points for the winners while for the losers, Joshua Grant scored 12 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.
