My Christian boyfriend and I eager to have sex

Dear pastor,

I am 18 and I have boyfriend. I am attending college. My father is a teacher and my mother is an evangelist. They raised me in a strict manner. I am their only daughter. I have three brothers. Two of them are Christians.

I hear them talking all the time about girls and how girls run after them. They know I have a boyfriend and they tease me all the time. I love my brothers, they are nice. I am the pet in the family.

My boyfriend wants to be a minister, but when he comes around me, we grope each other. We had dry sex. The temptation is always very strong. Sometimes, my parents are not at home and my brothers don't pay attention to us. They are not thinking that we would have sex.

Pastor, I know it is wrong. I am still a virgin. We masturbate and fondle each other. He asked whether we would ever be true to our convictions to wait until we get married.

I promised my dad that when he walks me down the aisle, I will still be a virgin. Sometimes, looking back, I wonder if I should have made that promise. What do you think, Pastor?

B.L.

Dear B.L.,

It is not just your parents that you should endeavour to please. You should try your best to please the Lord. Sexual temptation can be very strong, but you have to learn to control your sexual urges and not put yourself in a situations where you might be tempted to yield.

Here is my suggestion: Allow the love that you have for your boyfriend to grow. Engage in activities that are clean and are not sensual. When you date, choose areas that other people are around.

This will prevent you from getting sexual. I am not saying that you should never be alone, but if you know that you are weak and can't trust yourselves, don't be in areas where you might be tempted to have sex. I wish you well.
