Late husband’s children want me out of the house

January 30, 2020

Dear Pastor,

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. First, I would like you to give me your best solution for this problem that I have been facing.

I am 53 years old and my common-law husband was 87 years old. He passed away last April. We were living together for 17 years.

We had a daughter who is 15 years old, but she is in the US with her brother.

Pastor, this gentleman made a will. It said that I was to live at the premises and that the house was for the little girl.

But Pastor, my husband had other children and he also gave the house and land to them. Now they want to throw me out of the house.

They all live in the US. I don't want to lose this house that he gave to the little girl because they want it for themselves.

I did everything for this man and now his children come and want to take over. One of them is the executor and he is not carrying out the duties that he is supposed to.

I have given the Legal Aid lawyers permission to probate the will but I have not got a date as yet to go to court. What should I do? Should I give them the house or not? I am so confused.

They should not have done this to me because they were not here for their father. They took away the title and the will and don't want to give it to the lawyer for it to be probated it, but I have a copy of it so I am using it.

Pastor, I am leaving everything in God's hands, so please pray for me that it may come up in the court soon and that I may get my justice. I am looking forward for your reply.

E.M.

Dear E.M.,

I know you feel frustrated, but you seem to be going about the matter in the right way. The lawyers will definitely handle the matter for you.

And if the will was properly made, you and your child will get what you deserve. Do not get into any unnecessary arguments with this man's children.

Follow the advice of your lawyer. You have my prayers.

Pastor
