My favourite girl is not very bright
Dear Pastor,
Greetings to you in the name of the soon-coming King. I am a young man and I am dating three different girls. One of them asked me if something was wrong with me after I went out with her for the third time. She said she felt like I was ignoring her because men do not go out with women and not expect sex. I told her that I was not that sort of a man.
This girl loves me so much, but she is not educated. She has a good shape. She has two passes in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate examinations, and she comes from a very poor family. I have been encouraging her to read a lot. However, all she likes to do is to listen to music and to dance. She is the happiest girl if I stop by and take some chicken or pizza for her.
I recently rented a one-bedroom flat and I took her to show her the place and she did not want to leave. She was vexed. She said the evening should not end that way. I am in trouble because she wants to see me every day. The other two girls are not like that but, although the other two girls have more education, there is something about this girl that I love. I love her more than the others and I am wondering whether I should give this girl an opportunity she has never had by sending her back to school and teaching her to be a lady. What do you suggest I do?
V.L.
Dear V.L.,
Give this woman a chance. You are in a position to help her. Do just that. People will think I am too crazy by suggesting that to you. Help the girl. She would thank you for helping her to get an education. You will have to teach her that she ought not to use her body to get through life because her body will fade, and that sex will fade, but a good education will always remain with her. So, I repeat, spend some money on her and see what the future holds for both of you. Bye, sir.
Pastor
