Help! I can’t find a man - I dress nicely, I am attractive, educated, with no baggage and in a good job

February 01, 2022

Dear Pastor,

I read your column every day and I would like to thank you for the work you are doing. I am writing to you today for relationship advice. I am 25 years old and I have never been in a relationship. Sometimes I wonder what could be the reason because I dress nicely, I am attractive, educated, with no baggage and in a good job. Whenever I meet someone I might be interested in, the conversation usually doesn't lead anywhere, and when I tell men I am single they believe I am lying. Most of my friends are either in a relationship or married, and at my workplace people treat you differently when you are married.

I get very lonely at times, and feel left out when conversations about relationships come up, either at work or with friends. I grew up with the culture that men pursue women, and always thought that's how it would go for me as well. But most of the men I meet behave contrary to that. Growing up, I was a very quiet and reserved person, and it's not my personality to be bold or upfront.

I would like to meet someone and start a relationship that can lead to something more, as I feel my time is running out in this dating game. What can I do differently to meet the right person and keep the contact with them until the dating phase is over and a relationship is established? Please respond to my letter.

Warm regards.

Dear Writer,

How could I think that you are serious about meeting a man when you have written to me and you did not give me your name or initials or telephone number? Nevertheless, I believe that you are earnestly seeking a man.

If any man is interested in you, I am not even in a position to pass your name to him. So, all I can tell you is to keep on trying to find a man. Don't throw yourself around, and continue to pray that a good man may come your way.

I suggest you try again to reach me, and this time use your common sense. Put your name and your number. I will be praying for you.
