Man says homosexuality is not a sin

Dear Pastor,

I don't normally read your column, and I don't support most of your views. I am surprised at how as a pastor, and as a man who believe in the Scriptures, you and religious fanatics like yourself use your profession, or whatever you call it, to lead vulnerable people astray.

I am writing about your articles on homosexuality, in particular your comment blasting T.D. of New York who dared to condemn your archaic views. Homosexuality is as normal as heterosexual relations. Men have been with men since man was created. If homosexuality is immoral, so too is masturbating, fornicating, lusting, adultery and all those other sexual sins? your Bible mentions discreetly here and there. Lying, stealing, cursing etc. are equally immoral, and you must let your reading public know this as well.

I am so sick and tired of people using the Bible to suit their selfish opinions and to mislead others. The Bible is a historical masterpiece, a wonderful book of inspiration and common sense. It was written centuries ago by people just like you, people who apparently were inspired?. For those who read the Bible, I say, take the good from it and try to live a decent and fulfilling life. But don't use it as a weapon of hate or use God (if you believe in God), to justify your ignorance or hate!

If something is not your cup of tea, have coffee; but don't hate those who prefer something you might not like. Don't lose sleep trying to figure out why people's tastes and preferences are not the same as yours. Numerous experts have studied sexuality and have come to one clear conclusion: there is no single explanation or scientific or spiritual answer or solution. Homosexuality is a part of life and affects all cultures, all ages and all classes throughout history. Homosexuality has also been studied in the animal kingdom!

Please encourage your readers to live their lives to the fullest! Preach love, and respect instead of hate! Stop preaching rubbish. You are in no position to be judgmental! We, like you, are human beings and we all have the right to exist in peace, harmony and love. The word is love, Sir, One Love.

Have you forgotten that you are entitled to your views, and so am I? Why do you think that I do not have the right to express my views? You speak as an intellectual fool. You must be! Only an intellectual fool would say that, ? Homosexuality is as normal as heterosexual relations.? Was the anus designed for sex? You have to be kidding.

I have never preached the doctrines of hate. I have never told anyone to hate homosexuals. I have never condemned them. I have said that the Bible condemns the practice. I have said that the practice of homosexuality is immoral and abominable. You disagree with me, but I stand my ground. Curse me as much as you want; I will not change my position.

Evidently, you do not believe the Bible; that is your problem. I believe the Bible is inherent and not just inspired but divinely inspired. Why are you against me because I don't support your lifestyle? Live anyway you want. But when people ask me for advice, I must be true to my convictions and address each issue on its own merit. My friend, if you are happy cursing me, curse me again. It would not affect me. But if it makes you feel good and you don't have anything better to do, write me another letter and blast me! I will still go on counselling and doing God's work.
