My lecturer has a crush on me
Dear Pastor,
I am 31 and I have never been married, but I have found a man who says that he loves me and he wants me to be his wife.
I don't easily believe in men because I have had two men and they turned out to be liars. I am at the place where I hate men. I can do without them. This man who is interested in me is a lecturer. The relationship started because I had to call him so he could explain an assignment that he gave. He spoke to me calmly. He was so nice to me on the phone that I forgot that he was my lecturer. Before I could talk to him again, he called me back the following day and said it was so sweet to hear from me. I told a couple of friends about his reaction and they said he liked me. I have been talking to him online, but I don't trust him. Please, tell me whether I should call him again to explain any lessons.
If this man knows how much I hate men, he will not fool around me. One of my old boyfriends, before he broke up with me, told people that I was no good and that I had lots of boyfriends. He knew that that was a lie. So I don't trust men at all.
C.S.
Dear C.S.,
Although you have had men tell lies about you, you should not use that to condemn all men. Concerning your lecturer, I would prefer to believe that he was just trying to be helpful and that he had no intention being intimate with you. You might have misunderstood him. Remember that you do not have to call him back if you do not need him. Instead of calling, you can send him a text. Be careful what you say to other students about your lecturer. Not all students can keep their mouths shut. They may say something to fellow students and destroy this man's reputation. I have seen that happen. So I repeat, send this man a text and I wish you well.
Pastor
