Boyfriend said he doesn’t want to marry me
Dear Pastor
I am 37 and I have four children, but I am not living with any of their fathers. I have my own business and all my children live with me. Three of them are still minors.
My oldest is 19. I am in a relationship with a young man. He doesn't give me much money. Sometimes months go by and I don't get money from him, but sometimes I really need some help because the fathers of my two youngest children don't help with them. So it's hard on me at times.
When I talk to him about something, he doesn't talk like he wants to spend his life with me. He says that he doesn't believe in marriage and no matter what I am doing, he doesn't step in and give me a helping hand. If it has to do with money, he does not help me. He is helping me to build my house but I have to buy the material and he does the labour. I know that this relationship is not going to work because I want more out of life. To me, it's all about the sex and that is what he wants from me. Please give me your advice.
A.B.
Dear A.B.,
You need not continue with this man because he is mean and he does not like to give women money. He has made it clear to you that he does not believe in marriage. He is letting you know that if you want to continue with him, it is up to you. But don't expect him to marry you. You have a long struggle ahead of you, but continue to press on. The Good Lord will help you.
Pastor
