16-y-o stepdaughter is a sex addict

Dear Pastor,

I am writing to you about a matter. I was going through my stepdaughter's bag and I came across a diary that she keeps; I was so shocked.

I wanted to show her father, but I decided against it because some time ago, I saw something in her old diary and I mentioned it to her father, and he said I should not read her diary. But I told him that if we don't, she will soon bring a baby in the house. But I promised that I would not do so again. But here I am in the same position. I read her diary and saw that she had recorded every date when she had sex and the names of the guys she had sex with.

This girl is only 16 years old and, according to what she wrote in her diary, there were times she had sex up to three times per week. That is more than what her father and I do. One of the men with whom she had sex did not use a condom, but he gave her money to buy the morning-after Pill. He had taken her to one of those motels. She was also praising him for doing a good job, and she told him that she can hardly wait for the next time they are going to have sex.

This man should know that her father thinks that this girl is an angel, because he is always bragging about her. She is very bright. She does her schoolwork, but she is bad, very bad.

Some months ago when you went into your stepdaughter's bag and read her diary, it was brought to her father's attention.

You admitted to her father that you invaded her privacy and that she has a right to keep certain things private. Her diary is one such thing. You told her father that you would never go back into it. You haven't kept your word, and this time you have had a longer look.

This young woman, for reasons better known to her, has kept a record of her sexual activities. I suppose that one of the reasons why she has written down the names of all the guys who had sex with her is that should she become pregnant, she will be able to give the names of everybody. Perhaps what you should do is to purchase some books on love, sex and relationships and have them available in the house, so that this young woman can see them and receive help from them. Then she may not be inclined to throw her body around with different men.
