Two injured in West Kingston drive-by shooting

A man and woman were shot and injured earlier this evening in a drive-by shooting that sent scores of people scampering for cover metres away from the Darling Street police station in Kingston.

THE STAR understands that about 6:30 p.m., men travelling in a motor vehicle opened fire on a group of persons who had gathered in the area seemingly awaiting transportation.

The injured man and woman were rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital.

Up to news time, the state of their injuries was unknown.

Motorists traversing the usually busy roadway were inconvenienced as investigators cordoned the area.

Investigations are ongoing.
