The recently concluded Sandz beach party pulled hundreds of patrons to Laguna Beach in Portmore, St Catherine.

The popular event was both liquor-and-food inclusive in the VIP area, however, those who stayed in the general area took their own beverages and had a great time with their associates.

THE STAR arrived at Laguna Beach at minutes after 5 p.m., and during that time, the party was already in full swing as the DJs played old-school hip hop and dancehall selections.

The FLOW promo girls were out in their swimwear, and they kept the patrons entertained with their sometimes acrobatic dance moves. The ladies didn't seem to mind that the bulk of the audience had not yet arrived because the engaging music seemed sufficient to stimulate their involvement.

Old-school hip-hop selections from Cassidy, Jay Z, Biggie Smalls, among others, were well received. Dancehall anthems like Let Dem Have It by Merciless, Bounty Killer and Barrington Levy's Living Dangerously, among others, had patrons singing along.

Sandz was also attended by several persons from the music industry including Heavy D, UK-based dancehall act Don AndrE, Bridgez, and Gage.

By 9 p.m., the DJs were playing more contemporary music, and this segment was dominated by Vybz Kartel. In some cases, as many as 10 consecutive Vybz Kartel songs were played before one could hear another artiste, however, Vybz Kartel was obviously the man of the moment, and patrons didn't seem to mind hearing his music in abundance.

Songs like Without Money, Don't Trust People, Chain, and several others were standouts from Vybz Kartel's lengthy catalogue.
