Recording artiste G Maffiah was relatively popular on the local music scene over five years ago.

However, after migrating to the UK, the deejay was unable to maintain a strong presence in the island while residing abroad. G Maffiah said all that is about to change.

The deejay told THE WEEKEND STAR he was still pushing his music in places like New York, Orlando, Texas, Atlanta, Grenada, Canada, Bahamas, Boston, New Jersey, Connecticut and the UK.

new label

He hopes to win Jamaican listeners once again, this time with a new song produced by DJ Kunteh, We Nuh Sponge. He is also working to establish his label, GConneck Records, in collaboration with wegoinguk.com.

"I will be in Jamaica for two weeks promotion then back in the UK for some radio interviews and few shows over the Xmas season. The response has been great for the song, as most radio stations are playing it. Realbuzzradio is one of the leading stations in London, and we are getting the support there as well as Flames radio in UK," he said.

A music video for We Nuh Sponge was filmed and is already being aired on Jamaican video channels RE TV and Hype TV.

"I'm bringing a fresh new sound that's different from my previous works. I had a couple of years' break, which allowed me to have the time to really focus on producing my new album, which is a first for me, and my content is fresh, current, entertaining, and people should be able to relate. I really want to reconnect with Jamaica and I can also be reached on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter @gmaffiah ," he told the WEEKEND STAR.
