SunCity radio disc jock Patrick 'Weed Seed' Billings has staunchly refuted claims that he was held in a raid while in the United States recently, and has also denied being charged for any wrongdoing.

THE STAR understands that numerous websites and blogs have published information stating that the disc jock was held after authorities swooped down on premises and found over US$1,000,000.

He was in Florida for a stint, promoting his My Life mixtape, following which he would have made stops in New York and Washington.

Billings was forced to cut his travel plans short and return to Jamaica due to negative impact associated with the rumour.

Checks by our news team with the Broward County authorities did not return any finding that he was arrested and charged.

A spokeperson from the Broward Sheriff County Office told THE STAR that the last Patrick Billings in their system was from 2003 and was much older than the sunjock.

Billings visited THE STAR and told us that the negative publicity has not gone down well, especially with his family.

He said: "I am not in any trouble with the law, this is all a lie ... the situation cause my mother blood pressure fi gone up and other family and friends have expressed their concern. This jus' a build me more still because is like certain elements don't want to see me progress."

Billings also told our news team that he has been the target of scammers.

"I was playing in Miami last week and some man circle me a say dem pay somebody US$1,000 for me to play for dem and I didn't show. Dem a say dem want back dem money. Mi afi show dem proof say I did not collect their money, neither do I have knowledge of the transaction," said Billings.

The disc jock also told THE STAR that two shows were recently cancelled after the promoter learnt that his name was embroiled in arrest.

"The promoter said he had to rectify the situation and so the other shows were cancelled," said Billings.

He also told our news team that he has now retained an attorney as he contemplates legal action against the websites and blogs which have published misleading information about him, without merit.
