Bounty gives PM thumbs up
Amid the clamour in some quarters for Prime Minister Andrew Holness to declare his assets, Jamaica's dancehall superstar Bounty Killer has come out swinging in support of Holness, urging the nation to shift the focus to Jamaica House and less on the prime minister's house.
The self-declared warlord, who made his name in the dancehall with some stinging social commentary, also gave the prime minister's pre-election $1.5, million initiative the thumbs up, declaring that anything that gives back tangible benefits to the civil servants is a good move.
"Yes, I have already congratulated the prime minister (Andrew Holness), however, the time has come to shift the focus from Andrew's house to Jamaica House," Bounty Killer, who was speaking on an entertainment programme, said.
"If we can give back something to the people who have the least in the society, that's a good thing," the Killer declared.
The deejay, who is booked for two of the summer's biggest shows, Reggae Sumfest and Dreams Weekend, took a swipe at presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, who he label a racist and a weirdo.
The deejay, obviously incensed by the Republican's front-runner extremist political gimmickry, promised that should the Republicans win November's presidential election, he will boycott travels to America.
"He is a straight racist," the obviously 'cross, angry and miserable' veteran deejay insisted. "If him win, I won't be going back to the States," the outspoken deejay promised.
