FATHER'S DAY BLESSINGS ... Bounty Killer praises God for reunion with 'son' Mavado

Legendary dancehall artiste Bounty Killer and his protege Mavado finally made amends on Father's Day after a dispute which lasted more than five years.

Bounty Killer, in a post on social media, said God deserves "all the praises" for the reunification, adding that "there ain't nothing he cannot fix".

Bounty Killer called Mavado his son, a term he generally uses to refer to artistes he has exposed.

Shooting incident

Mavado severed ties with his 'father' following a shooting incident that occurred during Bounty Killer's birthday party at the Quad nightclub in New Kingston in 2011.

A member of Mavado's entourage was killed by the police.

This led to a drastic change in the relationship between Mavado and Bounty Killer. Their disagreement further escalated when one of Mavado's Gully Side members, Chase Cross, released a diss song aimed at Bounty Killer.

Chase was not reprimanded by Mavado, who instead lamented that Chase Cross and the deceased man were close friends.

Several persons in the music business had appealed to both artistes to make amends, including international producer DJ Khaled who is also a friend to both artistes.

However, that did not happen until Sunday night while Bounty Killer celebrated Father's Day at his weekly event, Bounty Sundays.

" Today is the beginning of our tomorrow folks, so use it wisely brothers and sisters. It's a very happy day in music today, the families and fans are smiling. Sorry for all who didn't want to see this folks, but give God all the praises, there ain't nothing he cannot fix," Killer wrote.

"Much love goes out to Mavado for the surprise Father's Night link. It was a great moment at Hennessy Bounty Sundays. Last night father and son like it was in the beginning, one step of unity is a mile of strength," he added.

Mavado also posted a photo of himself and Bounty Killer with the caption "Bosses".

Several fans and industry players also took to social media to congratulate both artistes for the move, while recommending that they make the gesture official with a song collaboration.

Overseas-based selector Nasheen Fire commented "Alliance and Gully forever", while Queen Ifrica commented "Yes, mi love dat".

DJ Khaled also shared Bounty Killer's post with the caption:"I love to see this Jamaica, blessing. The next blessing is for an anthem with Bounty and Mavado."
