... Sharon Burke unaware of issues between two artistes

Although social media has been abuzz with claims that dancehall artistes Mavado and Popcaan are at odds, Popcaan's agent, Sharon Burke, has rubbished these allegations.

The supposed beef came to the fore recently when Popcaan released his single, We Still A Win (World Cup), which many have labelled as a diss track and response to Mavado's Big League.

In his song, Popcaan states: "We nuh know bout league cause a we name World Cup..."

The song, produced by NotNice, has already racked up thousands of views on YouTube. Popcaan also previewed the song on his Instagram page, with fans immediately giving the track rave reviews.

Not one to back down, Mavado posted a cryptic message on his Instagram page yesterday and fans immediately assumed it was in response to Popcaan's song.

"Some little artiste boy fi know dem b........ self. Don't make me have to get dark because dem know how it will go. When you talking bout the Don, have some respect like you talking about your mom. Dem dead to me. Don't make it start, just know that," the post read.

one Don

Fans of Popcaan immediately took offence to the post, bashing Mavado for taking jabs at their artiste.

"A Popcaan a run the place now," one person said, while another added, "Easy yuhself Vado. A one Don inna dis and a Unruly."

But when contacted, Popcaan's agent, Sharon Burke, CEO of Solid Agency, told THE STAR that she was not aware of any issues between both artistes.

"This is the first I'm hearing about this. I know that Solid Agency and Mavado are friends. Mavado is friends with other Solid Agency artistes such as Bounty and Sasco. Solid Agency and Mavado have no beef. I don't even know about any issues," Burke said.

In the meantime, Popcaan is gearing up for his performance at Reggae Sumfest on Friday night.

Efforts to get a comment from Mavado were unsuccessful.

Despite the possibility of a new feud between the two artistes, this would not be the first time that they would be at odds. For years, Mavado feuded with Vybz Kartel who headed the Portmore Empire of which Popcaan was a member. However, in 2014 the unthinkable happened when Mavado was featured in the remix of Popcaan's Everything Nice.
