Sharkies Seafood Festival a success

Nestled along the beach side in Salem, Runaway Bay, St Ann, Sharkies Seafood Restaurant is the ideal spot for seafood.

Heroes Day it was the location to be for the Sharkies Seafood Festival, the first annual event which turned out to be a huge success for organisers and sponsors.

Patrons consumed sumptuous meals, such as fish of various variety and sizes, conch, lobster and shrimp.

From as early as 4 p.m. it was evident that the event was going to be an awesome one, parents, kids, grown folks and young folks came out to enjoy freshly prepared seafood and enjoy the daytime activities.

All this was just preparation for the best to come which were performances by some of Jamaica's top flight entertainers to include Singing Melody, I-Octane, Ding Dong and Romain Virgo.

All four of the main acts delivered superb sets and were very entertaining. I-Octane was his usually lively self, and he also got members of the crowd into his set and the patrons loved it. Stand out up-and-coming acts included St Ann natives Shakespear and Prohgres.

"The turnout was great, the turnout was huge and we at Sharkies Seafood Restaurant are quite pleased," Promoter, Alwyn 'BrownSpeed' Brown, told the STAR.

Brown was elated how the event turned out and while thanking patrons for attending, is already planning the 2017 staging which he promises will be an even a better package.

Some of the sponsors on board were Smirnoff, Rainforest Seafoods, CPJ, B&D Trawling, Gas pro, Best Dressed Chicken and Jamaica Biscuit Company.
