Phuket to celebrate ninth anniversary
Organisers of the "exotic" beach party, Phuket, promise patrons a fun-filled, high-energy and electrifying night this Sunday at Sugarman's Beach in Portmore, St Catherine.
One of the event's promoters, Winston Smith II, told THE STAR that Phuket isn't just a party, it's an experience that captivates all the senses.
"We offer an exotic twist on Jamaican nightlife, where every type of patron, from 'high rollers' to 'dollies' to casual partygoers, is guaranteed quality entertainment and an unforgettable vibe. Expect nothing less than sexy and premium quality from start to finish. From the grand entrance to the electrifying stage, every detail has been curated to wow," he said, while promising to deliver "exciting surprises". Musical juggling will be provided by Little Richie, Di Unit Entertainment, DJ Mindless and Team Wire.
Phuket will be celebrating its ninth anniversary this year. The last staging of Phuket was held in June 2023, and, according to Smith, patrons have been anticipating another staging. He shared that the title and concept of the party was inspired by his trip to Thailand, where he was captivated by the vibrant energy of Phuket Island.
"The name not only embodies an exotic feel, but also has a playful twist that resonates perfectly with our Jamaican audience, creating intrigue and excitement," he said. Smith also noted that since the inaugural Phuket event nine years ago, patrons have always had an adrenaline rush for the next staging, which impacted the party's current reach and ability to live up to its name and expectations.
"The anticipation has been sky-high for the next one. People can't wait to see what we have planned for this time around. Phuket creates the perfect ambiance for meeting new people. For our single patrons, come with an open mind and enjoy the chance to connect, and maybe even find that special someone," Smith urged. "This will be our ninth year hosting Phuket. Over the years, it has grown into one of the most anticipated events, and we're thrilled to bring another unforgettable staging to our loyal patrons."
In addition to the strong support from the event's partygoers, Smith shared the organisers' personal aim to keep the event going on a yearly basis.
"Our ultimate goal for Phuket is to evolve it into a weekend festival. With this vision, we're committed to growing our brand and enhancing the experience to attract and engage our target audience," he reasoned.
He added that the main goal for hosting this particular event is to "bring exotic entertainment out of the shadows of clubs and bars and into an open, welcoming space".
"Phuket creates a safe environment where patrons can feel at ease and fully enjoy the experience, contributing to a new level of comfort and excitement in entertainment," the party promoter opined.
