‘Positive Vibes’ doing big things for Vanessa Bling

Dancehall superstar Vanessa Bling said 2025 is off to an "amazing" start, as she is on her European 'Vanessa Bling Live in Concert' tour, which set sail on January 31.

The versatile songstress who has been on a consistent musical high over the years, shared that her visit to Europe proved how much her music is appreciated.

"The experience so far is phenomenal - the love from the fans is nothing short of amazing. [I've been] to Bordeaux and LaMans so far and both [shows] were sold out. [But] I'm mostly looking forward to visiting Paris and Amsterdam," the singer told THE WEEKEND STAR. The tour will culminate on February 22.

She revealed that since the release of her recent single, Positive Vibes - a 'sports anthem' - there has been a refreshed and re-energised appreciation towards her stage performance.

"Yes, definitely. The fans are jumping up and down so much [to that song], trying to outdo me when I'm performing, it's a great feeling I tell you," she said, adding that she hopes the single will "bring out the mood of happiness to anyone listening no matter the mood you're in".

The track, which is produced by Billboard producer COSTI, is gaining traction. European deejays are playing the track in clubs, while fans are dubbing it as the artiste's biggest international hit, with several viral videos of fans vibing to the song.

With close to 100,000 streams on Spotify and approximately 80,000 views on YouTube since the song's release two weeks ago, Vanessa Bling said "it's a great look so far [and] the song is doing everything and more than we expected".

"Music has a way to do things that you don't expect it to do. This song I believe is worthy to reach the top, but let's see, I don't want to jinx it. So I will continue to promote it to the fullest. But my main objective was to create a mood and feel of happiness to the listening ear," she stated.

With the single already receiving corporate endorsement, Vanessa Bling shared how she secured her first deal with Arnett Gardens' Football Club.

"[They] approached me after hearing the track, and it was like a match made in heaven that we did a collaboration. I had so much fun with the players and everyone on staff showed me so much love. Arnett has been my team for a long time [and] my favourite colours are red and black," she said. The singer was also invited to perform at a recently netball match in which the Sunshine Girls beat South Africa. Vanessa Bling, who brought the vibe on stage at halftime, also made selfie videos, joining the players in their victory celebration, as they sang and danced to Positive Vibes.

"It's definitely a sports anthem. When you listen to Positive Vibes, the beat, it instantly cries out sports. I'm aiming to partner the song with a few big companies; a lot of advanced talks are ongoing right now so look out for big news soon," she stated.

In securing a more global market, Vanessa Bling revealed that her next major project will see her working with American rapper and Billboard producer Swizz Beatz. She also recently dropped a single with Skeng and DJ Mac, titled, Badness.
