Cop dies from injuries sustained in motorcycle crash
A policeman, who was seriously injured when his motorcycle collided with a taxi along the Unity Hall main road, in St James, died a short while ago while undergoing treatment at the Cornwall Regional Hospital, in Montego Bay.
The cop was stationed at the Sandy Bay Police Station, in Hanover.
Superintendent Andrew Nish, the police commander for Hanover, said the police officers in the division as while as residents, are now in mourning as the deceased cop was well loved and respected.
He said efforts are now being made to contact his mother and sister, who are both overseas.
The matter is being investigated by the St James police, but efforts to get a preliminary account of their investigations, proved futile.
