Delivery man found with pistol arrested by St James police

A deliveryman was arrested by the St James police during a mobile patrol along Fustic Road, Montego Bay when he was found with an illegal firearm on Monday.

Charged with Possession of a prohibited weapon is 20-year-old Matthew Willis of Star Apple Boulevard, Catherine Hall, in the parish.

The Barnett Street police say that t about 9:30 p.m., during their patrol, the accused man saw the service vehicle and started to act in a manner that aroused their suspicion.

He was apprehended, and a brown bag he was carrying was searched.

During the search, a Taurus G2C nine millimetre pistol with an empty magazine was found.

Willis was then taken to the police station and subsequently charged for the offense.

A court date is being finalized for him.
