Sizzla recruited for DJ Khaled's album

Legendary reggae artiste Sizzla Kalonji will be featured on DJ Khaled's upcoming album, 'Grateful'. The album is a follow-up to the successful 'Major Key' album which was certified platinum in the United States.

Sizzla, who had experienced a decline in his international presence following the loss of his visa six years ago, is no stranger to working with international acts. He has collaborated with Damion Dash and Foxy Brown in the past, and was also sampled by Jay Z, 50 Cent and Ja Rule on different projects.

DJ Khaled, on the other hand, was introduced to the dancehall scene under the wings of legendary recording artiste Bounty Killer. Labelled the 'King of Snapchat', DJ Khaled has achieved much success in recent times, getting collaborations with artistes like Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Remy Ma, Justin Beiber, and Jeremih.

The super producer uploaded six separate images on his social media pages depicting Sizzla in working mode, while informing fans that the deejay will be featured on the highly anticipated album.

"Putting final touches to my biggest album grateful. Sizzla and We the Best Music. I know my roots that's why I'm so in in tune into nature. Bless up, lion order, big up. Sizzla's vocals on the chune we cutting right now is so powerful on everything I love. Tears coming down my eyes. I'm so grateful to all my fans love worldwide. I'm so grateful," he wrote.

Sizzla also commented via his social media page, noting that he is pleased to be working with DJ Khaled.

"Give thanks for the hospitality DJ Khaled. I'm honoured to be a part of the new album Grateful. More fire mek it bun, more life and more love. Respect every time general. Jah bless," he said.

THE STAR made attempts to get a follow-up comment from Sizzla, but we were unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, DJ Khaled was recently criticised by rapper Joe Budden and hip-hop journalist DJ Akademiks via Complex Magazine for ignoring artistes signed to his label since the rise of his own career. According to the controversial duo on their show Everyday Struggles, artistes like Mavado and Ace Hood who are signed to Khaled are stagnant. Joe Budden also noted that bringing friendship into business can be detrimental to growth in the music industry.
