Troyton produces for DJ Khaled's album

Dancehall and reggae producer Troyton will be featured alongside Mavado on DJ Khaled's highly anticipated album, 'Grateful', which will be released tomorrow.

The hit-making producer, who is known for his work on tracks like Dexta Dap's 7/11, Chris Martin's Big Deal and Adionia's Work It, will be featured for both his songwriting and production on the single Unchanging Love, which is featured on his 'True Emotions' rhythm.

"Khaled's album already has two solid number one hits, and so the album will be a hit. I co-wrote this song with Nazine and Mavado two years ago, but music is a time thing. It is a great feeling, but I am a reserved person, so I was waiting until it literally happened to celebrate," he said.

"Mavado told me that Khaled selected the song, but I wanted to see the track list first, and now I am still waiting on the album to drop on the 23rd to really soak up the feeling because this is music and anything can change in a second."

The producer, who rarely does interviews, told THE STAR that he is now looking to put a face to his productions since his hits have surpassed the popularity of his brand.

He also disclosed that DJ Khaled and Mavado are already planning to film an accompanying music video for the song with his input.

Very low key

"Mavado, Khaled and I were just on a conference call last night, discussing the video concept, so it is going to be crazy. I am very low key, so I am not sure if I am going to be in the video yet, but I have been actively involved in the planning process for the video. We have already sorted rights and all those things, so I am in a good place right now,'' he said.

The 'True Emotions' rhythm compilation will also feature top-flight acts like Beres Hammond, Jah Cure, Taurus Riley and Chris Martin. The entire project will also be released tomorrow, coinciding with the Grateful album.

Aside from Troyton and Mavado, Grateful features a list of top-flight international recording artistes, including Jay Z, Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Quavo, Future, Rihanna, Rick Ross, Pusha T, Big Sean and Drake.

The album also features Grammy-nominated reggae artiste Sizzla Kalonji, whose song I'm So Grateful is the first song on the project.

Troyton is hoping the album will sell platinum since that would guarantee both him and Mavado a platinum plaque for their effort.

"Khaled's album is one of the biggest album in America in about two decades, so this is a big deal," he told THE STAR.
