New Jersey, USA:

The Atlantic City leg of BRT Weekend commenced on Thursday night with a launch party at Chelsea's Beach Bar on the Boardwalk.

The event was titled 'Unwind' and judging by the selection of music and the behaviour of the patrons, it was clear that they took some aspects of the title literal.

DJ Cali B was in charge of the juggling and he brought the party to life with soca music from the likes of Bunji Garlin, Machel Montano and Slick Rick,

Ralph Franchise, a member of BRT's promotional team, said that the venue is being used for a Caribbean event for the first time and is a big deal to persons in the Tri-state area.

Biggest city

"This will be the biggest of the season thus far based on the sales. It is a destination people are happy to come to. This is one of the biggest cities in the Tri-state area and everybody knows what we are bringing to the table as it relates Caribbean entertainment," Franchise said.

"The Boardwalk has been around for decades and it is also pull factor because of its uniqueness and beauty. BRT Weekend is looking to capitalise on this beauty and present one of best experiences fans can get anywhere," he said.

Aidona, Bunji Garlin and Coppershot Sound System as well as other acts affiliated with the Caribbean are booked to entertain the masses expected to turn out at this staging.
