Dancehall artiste Praj-X has teamed up with dancehall artiste Tommy Lee Sparta for his latest single, 'Army of Death'.

The record sees both deejays delivering hard-core lyrics over a pulsating dancehall beat. It is also Praj-X's first major collaboration since signing to a new management team.

"We met in my community and some talking and thing gwaan, and Tommy Lee agreed to do a song with me. It took a while to get it done because both of us have busy schedules, but the wait was worth it, because [it is] a bad song. Big up Tommy Lee and my whole team who made this possible. We are here to leave our mark in music, because the time is now," he said.

Tommy Lee Sparta has been riding high following a series of strong live appearances, and he even closed Reggae Sumfest for the first time recently.

"The song has been doing well on social media, and on YouTube the views have been climbing well, and I have begun to get new fans as a result of that. So right now, it's all about promoting the work and keeping my foot on the gas and running with this opportunity," Praj-X said.

IMPROVE REACH

The artiste is also batting for fellow young artistes to make better music and improve their reach using new technology.

"Dancehall is a wonderful genre with limitless potential. My vision is to take it as far as there is life and ears to listen. Through my music, I give a voice to those who are unable to share their experiences, but at the same time it entertains. Through my music, I'm able to shed light on the challenges experienced by others," he said.

He continued: "We have to learn how to tap into the digital market more. Not just putting out songs and relying on YouTube views, but having a medium such as iTunes to place albums and songs on the Billboard charts, so, it's there for the world to see and grab," he said.

Praj-X has already taken his own advice and offered his music for purchase on iTunes. Fans of dancehall may also listen his latest work for free on avenues like VEVO.
