DJ Khaled takes Troyton to Billboard
The 'True Emotions' rhythm compilation produced by Troyton Music has charted on the Reggae Billboard chart at number 13.
The rhythm, which is featured on DJ Khaled’s latest album, Grateful, courtesy of Mavado’s single, Unchanging Love, also peaked on the iTunes chart following its release last month.
"I'm feeling overwhelmed by everything that's happening. From the song that I produced for Mavado, Unchanging Love, got featured on DJ Khaled number one album, then topping iTunes reggae chart when it was released, it was such a great feeling. The response has been great because of the line-up. I have been working three years on the project. It is really special to me, and I am glad that it is also to others. It's a wonderful feeling," Troyton said.
The 'True Emotions' rhythm also features the legendary Beres Hammond, I-Octane, Mavado, Tarrus Riley, Jahmiel, Alaine, Christopher Martin, Jah Cure, Bugle, Charly Black, Lutan Fyah, Deep Jahi and rising recording artiste Theron.
Troyton, who is known for his work on Chris Martin’s Big Deal and Dexta Daps’ Seven Eleven, says he is humbled by his recent string of success.
"Entering the Billboard at 13, it was expected but not expected. Sometimes you put your heart into a project, but it doesn't do as well for some reason. But I like to humble myself and let my work speak for itself and just wait. Even after Khaled chose Unchaining Love out of five or six songs that were sent to him, and I knew it was going on the album, and I signed the contract, I still didn't get excited until I saw the track listing. Even after that I waited. I played it over and over. So knowing that this is a compilation, this isn't an album, it's awesome. It's a blessing," he said.
President of 21st Hapilos, Kelly Dudley, who is responsible for the distribution of the project, also noted that good music will stand out among many.
"Firstly, Troyton Music delivered a truly great product. It features A-list artistes and the production quality is exceptional. But also, 21st Hapilos since the beginning of the year, has totally revamped and reorganised itself into a much better and much more effective company,” Dudley said.
