Navino gets risque on 'Never Touch Yet'

Dancehall star Navino is banking on the success of his latest single, Never Touch Yet, which appears to have struck a chord with teenagers and dancehall enthusiasts. A video of the song has already racked up 70,000 views on VEVO.

"The response has been great so far. The song a play a street dances all over the Corporate Area, Spanish Town, May Pen. Now that the video has been released, I am bracing for the impact from this song. It is already an anthem with the ladies, and is on almost every dancehall mixtape this summer," Navino said.

Main perpetrators

Navino also responded to rumours that the Broadcasting Commission was thinking about banning the risquÈ song after it attracted the ire and attention of family organisations, one of which issued a press release about recent questionable 'virgin' songs in the dancehall arena, listing Vybz Kartel and Navino as the main perpetrators.

In a release, the organisation, Mothers Against the Corruption of Youth (MACY), complained that Navino's video and song used explicit sexual imagery and promoted sex without marriage and undermined family values, offering an unsavoury image of young ladies as whores and "soulless sex symbols".

"Abstinence is the only 100 per cent effective method for avoiding unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. Teens, especially young teens, should be encouraged to delay sexual initiation," the release said.

However, Navino believes that we cannot tackle issues by ignoring them and sticking our heads in the sand.
