Man injured in shooting near church in St Elizabeth

The St Elizabeth police are investigating an incident that left a man recovering from being shot near a church in the parish early this morning.

It is reported that about 2:45 the man was walking in the vicinity of the Prospect New Testament Church when he was attacked by armed assailants.

He was shot and his attackers fled.

The man was assisted to hospital for treatment.

The New Market police are probing the incident.
