Up-and-coming dancehall artiste Dovey Magnum is today thankful for life as she recovers from a car accident which took place in Florida earlier this month.

The accident happened when the entertainer was travelling from Atlanta to Florida after the Beach Road Trip (BRT) Weekend concluded in the US a few weeks ago.

Dovey Magnum was one of the hosts for BRT Weekend.

As a result of the accident, the entertainer sustained injuries to her head, as well as a broken toe. She is now taking things easy as she heals.

"Me kinda a do better. A just me head still a hurt likkle bit cause me did lick me head and unconscious for a likkle while, so me a take it easy," she said.

"Thanks to everyone who took the time out to check up on me. I appreciate it, I really do."

The entertainer said that while she rests and recovers, she is promoting a new song, titled Prayer Me Use And Win. The song, she says, is testament to her still being around after an accident that could have easily claimed her life. She wants her fans to know that it will be back to business as soon as she has completely recovered.

Dovey Magnum has been steadily building a fan base within the industry as her song, Bawl Out, continues to do well. The entertainer, who is known for her raunchy, hard-core lyrics, told THE STAR back in September that although she is relatively new on the dancehall scene, she is hoping to fill some of the gap left by Lady Saw when she left the dancehall for gospel.

"I'm bringing back the hard-core juice to the industry for the ladies to take control. The men always been dominating, but things change now, and I have some nice sweet songs for the ear, and it's not just about sex," she said at the time.
