Gospel recording artiste Wayne Buchanan rebranded himself as Jai Kingston almost two years ago and was on track to release his first album in more than a decade. But the project, 'His Voice' was stalled by hurricanes that battered Caribbean islands in the Lesser Antilles as well as sections of the US, and the entertainer's deadlines were greatly impacted.

The artiste, who was in the US Virgin Islands at the time the storms hit, told Gospel Spotlight that his plans were derailed as he personally felt the effects of the hurricanes Irma and Maria.

"Last year, I planned to release an album, titled his Voice, but I got setback because of the two hurricanes that hit. I was in the US Virgin Islands at the time, and the devastation was great. The projects weren't completed in time, and so no promotional work was done for the album," he said. "I'm back on schedule now, and I will be releasing the album next year so people can look out for that."

Pointing out that every setback is for a reason, Jai Kingston admitted that perhaps the project would have needed a little more work. He noted that the extra time he got as a result of the delay has made the album so much better. He said that he has been able to use some of his personal experiences from the disastrous events to write some touching songs, and he hopes that, like the storm, they will immensely impact people's lives.

"Last month I released a single called Double For Your Trouble, and that was inspired by the events of September 2017. It's a song of hope and will remind people that though they go through trials the reward will be greater because of the battle."

"I don't see the focus of the album shifting. However, I do see added songs, songs that would have never came into my consciousness if I had not gone through the events of September 2017. That experience spoke volumes to me, and so the album has metamorphosed and evolved into new dimensions."

Send Judah First, Holy Spirit and Double for Your Trouble are three singles to be included on the project, and the artiste says fans should brace themselves to hear God's voice when they listen the album.
