Popular dancer and recording artiste John Bling says he is imploring parents to guide and warn their children against predators who might be lurking close by. The entertainer made this statement after he met a group of children begging on the streets of St Elizabeth recently.

"I was travelling along the Alligator Pond area when I stopped at a shop to make a purchase, and three kids were there. They were really pleasant children, and they were begging me money to buy food. They said they were siblings, and I was really moved. But my heart also skipped a beat because I know they don't know of the danger that may be lying ahead. Children are being kidnapped and murdered, and I instantly thought that this type of behaviour could lead to one of those unfortunate events," he told THE WEEKEND STAR.

John Bling said that while he was heartbroken about their situation, he was even more concerned about the little girl who was in the group, as he believes she could have been a target for child molesters.

In offering encouragement to the children, the dancer made a video of the entire scenario, and the two boys and a girl could be seen leaning on his car window as they explained that they needed the money to buy food. They also said their mother had "gone up the road."

"Unuh nuh fi deh pon di road a ask for any money. That is bad, especially for you little girl. You are 13 years old, and there is a lot of perverts out there who will take unuh away. This is no joke thing. Is not everybody unuh fi see and ask for things. This is serious. Yuh fi stay home when you can't go school. The road is serious, so unuh take this and come off the road now. Mi nuh wah see unuh back out here," he said, as he gave them $500 each.

He also gave the girl an additional $500 for her to attend school the following day.

"I am a father, and this situation is really really sad. I fear for them because, again, it didn't have to be me. As parents we have to speak to our children, because in times like these we just can't hide anything," he said.
