Bunji Garlin had the crowd going to ‘extremes’ at BRT
Saturday afternoon of BRT's Xtreme Wet 'n' Wild was the perfect way to escape the summer heat at Chicken Bone Beach at Boardwalk in Atlantic City in New Jersey.
On the inside, selectors Coppershot, DJ Cruise, DJ Addy, Young Chow and Platinum Kids kept the massive crowd dancing with their musical selections.
Patrons were seen enjoying the pools and water slides; absolutely no one was spared from being drenched.
This was one of the rare occasions when the ladies were not fussy about messing up their hairstyles as halfway through the event, some abandoned their wigs, throwing them to the ground.
About 4 p.m., the water party reached its peak when it was time for an energetic performance from soca powerhouse Bunji Garlin.
The Trinidadian had the crowd on their 'worst behaviour' as he dished out the lyrics to songs like Pick Up Something; the audience certainly did as dozens of men were seen running through the jam-packed audience with females on their shoulders.
Take A Trip, We Ready for the Road and Tay Lay Lay were just a few of the songs used to put the crowd in a musical trance.
Also referred to as the 'Lyrics King', Bunji lived up to that moniker by delivering well-received freestyle lyrics.
THE STAR caught up with New York resident Sharon Hudson, who was in high spirits as she explained how extreme the event was.
"This is the first time I am attending one of these events, and I am drunk right now. My co-worker told me about it, and I was a bit doubtful at first, but I am happy I did. My food is wet and my liquor is diluted with water, but everything is still tasty," she said.
